A next-generation drug causes dramatic weight loss, Eli Lilly says |

The race for newer and more effective weight-loss drugs is in full swing. Eli Lilly reported that its newest medication, still in human testing, helped people who were overweight or obese lose up to 28% of their body weight, which is about the same as occurs with bariatric surgery. |
The drug is the first weight-loss medication to target three hormones, and the good news is that its effectiveness doesn’t come at the price of more side effects. |
